We arrived in Oban, our base for the three island tour (next blog) to stay in a charming guest house. The room looked out to the ocean.

The room and hotel had lots of Scottish features like the stag pillows and stag horn lamps and chandelier and tartan carpeting!

The breakfast, although Continental, was a full spread of cheeses and meats, breads, cereals and fruits. I’ve had no problem getting gluten free options here or anywhere.

Oban is known for it’s mussels. For dinner, we feasted on mussels in a delicious white wine sauce, various types of smoked salmon, and a few oysters to top it off. They have various kinds of local beer and ciders to enjoy.
